How to Make Palo Azul Tea
Palo Azul Recipes
If you're looking to extract palo azul's healthful properties in the quickest and most efficient way, all you need is heat. So you could make your palo azul by boiling water, microwaving water, or using a hot water dispenser. This will accelerate the infusion process just as it would for green tea or coffee. You can also cold brew your palo azul tea by simply adding a few pieces into cold or room temperature water.
1.) Boil 1 liter of water and then add 2-3 pieces of palo azul bark (6 grams).
2.) Put a lid on the pan so it doesn't evaporate and let it boil for around 20-30 minutes, until you can see it turn blue or amber.
3.) Let it cool down and then remove the palo azul plant
4.) Shine light on your palo azul tea to enjoy the magic!
If you want the bluest, most potent color, and the highest concentration of flavonoids, antioxidants, etc...this is the best method.
* Flavonoids are natural compounds responsible for many of the benefits of palo azul and its blue fluorescence as well.
1.) For the best cold brew, add a few pieces to room temperature water and leave it overnight so that it brews effectively.
2.) For a quick on-the-go drink, simply add some palo azul to your cup, bottle or thermos. Shake it up a bit, and you will see it start to turn blue in 1-3 minutes.
A cold brewed infusion will not be as potent or concentrated, so it will have a lighter color...but it will still yield a blue color and will still definitely provide its health benefits.
